Welcome to Nashville Shambhala!

410 Central Ave. Nashville TN 37211

We are a community of meditators who are exploring our own basic goodness through meditation and studying the dharma.  We invite you to spark your heart and mind through the practice of meditation. All are welcome, as we embrace our diversity and our basic goodness as humans.  It is our meditation practice that unites us.

If you are new to meditation we offer instruction on Sundays at 10 am and on Wednesdays at 7 pm.  We’d love to meet you! Visit our membership page for more about being a Nashville Shambhala member.

UPDATE: Nashville Shambhala, after seriously considering revoking our Charter with Shambhala USA, have voted (17-2) to remain in the Charter.
We were shocked and saddened by news and details of misconduct in the global organization’s leadership. Nashville’s governing council has written an open letter to Shambhala with a view of what we hope will become “a more relevant vehicle to carry the teachings forward. A vehicle that can hold and respect all human beings in deep and profound care and sacredness. A vehicle that turns the mirror back on itself as a way of being held accountable for the actions and behaviors of its members, the culture it has collectively created, supported, and perpetuated, and the harm it has caused.” Read the letter on our blog site.

What is Shambhala?

Shambhala Vision is rooted in the principle that every human being has a fundamental nature of basic goodness. This nature can be developed in daily life so that it radiates out to family, friends, community and society.  Together we gather to create enlightened society!
